The 1:1 Program was first introduced at Shire Christian School in 2009. Since the beginning, the goal has been to furnish every single student with a device that meets their learning needs, acting as a suitable platform for all learning activities at home and at school.

Students are expected to take responsibility for their devices, ensuring they are kept in good condition and are brought to school fully charged every day.

The 1:1 Program is delivered by Shire Christian School's ICT Services team who are available to assist students on all school days. 

With class-leading build quality, battery life and portability, the MacBook Air is a highly capable device well-suited to the education environment.

MacBooks include a suite of applications available to students, including:

• Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and PremierePro), 

• Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Powerpoint and Excel),

• Programming IDEs including PyCharm and Visual Studio Code

• Garageband and iMovie
